Some of you may recognize today’s bride. I met Debbie a few months ago through a local group of photographers (all of whom I love). Debbie is so sweet, and funny, and not to mention great to listen to because she hails from Scotland and still has an accent. When she told me about her wedding I was so excited! It sounded right up my alley.. bride in cowboy boots, burlap, lace, and DIY details. I had met her fiance a few times and they really are a great couple.
Debbie started her day getting ready at her home in Norfolk. One of the first things we saw when we walked into her bedroom was what was playing on the television. No Say Yes to the Dress, or 27 Dresses.. no, this bride was watching The Chernobyl Diaries. Debbie loves all things October, horror movies on her wedding day included. I am not a fan of horror movies but I loved the fact that she was making this her day. Many brides follow trends but I love those brides who do what THEY want that describes their relationships perfectly.
Debbie and Aaron were married at their church in Virginia Beach, followed by the reception at a beautiful private residence on the Bay side in Sandbridge. Their day was truly beautiful, and I’m so blessed to know both of them and call them my friends. Congrats Debbie, I know you two (and your girls) are going to have many happy days ahead of you!!
Special thank you to my assistant/second shooter Tabitha 🙂
