I view working together as a mutual decision. To have the best experience and get the best photos, a certain level of trust is required from both of us. I like to sit down and have coffee or chat with you as a couple to see if we would enjoy each other’s company for 8 hours before anything is decided. If we both agree, I will send over all the formal stuff digitally and a 30% booking fee is required to save the date on my calendar.

Engagement sessions are a must! Even if you don’t think you need the photos, I think it’s an important time for you to get comfortable being in front of the camera, and building a relationship with me. When your wedding day arrives, you know that one, you like what you look like in finished photos with me. Two, you are used to the way I pose and direct you, so it will feel more natural, and three, I will feel like a friend showing up to your wedding day rather than a stranger. For these reasons a mini or regular  engagement session  is part of any wedding collection or booking. Mini engagement sessions can be upgraded to full sessions.

I would say I have shot at least 50% of weddings alone. I feel completely confident in my abilities to capture your day on my own. That being said, having a second photographer is something that I’m always open to adding. It definitely can help get additional angles simultaneously and provide coverage of things like getting ready when they aren’t happening in the same location. We can chat about what might work best for your day and decide that together or you can say yes we want one! Most of the second shooters I hire are also full time wedding photographers who are fully capable of taking over in case of an emergency (it’s never happened yet but I’ll never say never!).

I have lived ALL over the country and photographed them everywhere too. I will get on a plane if we think working together is a must.. but I do primarily serve Connecticut and the greater New England area. As far as shooting goes, I try to take a very candid approach whenever possible. I like to try and get as much of the day photographed with as little direction from me. Weddings are not a photo shoot, and I want the photos to come from a very honest place. I try to be everywhere, yet unseen by anyone. 
When it comes to editing, I don’t like to edit too trendy or for instagram. I ask myself does this work seem contemporary but also will it seem dated in a few years? I like my images to look modern, yet timeless so that they will hold up for the next 100 years.
