Where to start? Mackenzie, is a doll. Samantha and Jeremy are dear friends of ours and so originally I was just going to the hospital to visit and congratulate them. Jeremy asked if I would bring my camera and I of course said yes. When I got there, I expected to see the whole family, however it was just Samantha (who looked amazing for just having a child 12 hours prior) and Mackenzie. I’m always overly cautious when it comes to newborns, and I never ask to hold them when at the hospital. Maybe it’s because I’m not a mom but I also worry about getting them sick (even if I’m in perfect health). Samantha thrust her into my arms upon my arrival though, and Mackenzie became the first newborn I’ve ever held in the hospital (how is that possible.. I don’t know).
I came to find out, Jordan, her big brother, had not yet met her. I was so excited to be able to capture this moment for them! When he arrived, he delivered the sweetest reaction that anyone could dream of. It’s very evident he’s both proud to be a big brother, and loves her so much already.
About a week later, I went over to their home and did their official newborn session. Mackenzie was awake for the first half, and then when we tried to get her posed shot it took about an hour of trying to get her to settle and fall asleep but we finally did and it paid off. So sweet!
