That is A-OK in my book. I know a lot of people love Valentine’s Day.. hey, I’m a little guilty. I love LOVE. It’s a great emotion, especially when you are in it. I have the best husband in the world (I may be biased but whatevs). However, my husband doesn’t celebrate Valentine’s Day, and I’m okay with that because I kind of agree with him. There shouldn’t have to be a day for you to recognize and celebrate the person you love. If you have found that someone, you should do it everyday. There is a line in the song I love that says “don’t be shocked that people die, be surprised you’re still alive” which is so true. Everyday we see people die too young, in our community and all over the world. I tell my husband I love him every time we hang up the phone, leave the house, send an email. I’d rather say it too much than not enough. I think the world could be a lot better place if we all showed a little more love and compassion towards people, and not just those we know. But that’s a whole other subject I could talk about for hours. Just go spread some love people! 🙂 I’m off my soapbox for the day.
That being said, I decided because I love meeting new people, and I love.. love, I would have a contest to win a couples’ session! I had ten LOVELY couples enter, and the amount of support they got from their friends and family and even from strangers was amazing. I have to say, it made my heart happy to see strangers voting and telling people they didn’t know how lovely and beautiful other couples were. I love that spirit. Friday I announced the winners were a lovely couple named Maureen & Jesse and I have to say I was IMPRESSED by their late entry (almost the last couple to enter) and win! They seem super sweet, and I found out they have NO professional photos of themselves. I think photography is something that every family should invest in. So I’m excited to be able to give this gift to them.
So what did you do on your Valentine’s Day? I spent mine snuggling with my pups and watching my favorite movie for the millionth time.
