This Fort Story engagement session was extra special to me. Not that I don’t love every session, because I do, but when you get to photograph your good friends it just makes it a little bit more awesome because you know way more of the little details.
Chris and Jessica used to live with Zack and me. Actually, they used to live with Zack before I was dating him. Zack and Chris met each other about 10 years ago when they were stationed in San Diego together. When I moved to Virginia and moved in with Zack the four of us lived together for about a year before Chris and Jess moved up to Maryland where Jess is from. If you have ever lived with someone, unless they are a total hermit, you tend to get to know them very well and spend a lot of time together. Oh the stories I could tell of these two, but I won’t because some are quite embarrassing and some are so inappropriate.
This spring, Chris and Jess will have been together 6 years so you could say that the engagement was a long time coming. Or.. bout time, as some might say 😉
They decided to come down to Virginia Beach for their engagement photos as this is where they met and their story started. We went to Fort Story as it had a little of everything. It did not disappoint as the weather was perfect! Our only complaint was that there were those little spiky burrs.. EVERYWHERE. They are now all over my house, I wish I had taken a photo of our shoes by the end. I love how these photos turned out though.
O.M.G. I. love. this. It’s hard not to though – look at it!
Jess you are gorgeous!
Custom jerseys for their teams – Cowboys for him, Ravens for her, his last name for both 🙂
Chris and Jess, I’m so happy for you two and feel so lucky that you let me take your engagement photos. Can’t wait for the wedding!
A special thanks to my husband Zack for tagging along and being my assistant which I don’t know if some of those rock photos would have happened without him there. PSA – don’t wear flip flops when you plan to go rock climbing 😉
