Going into shooting this wedding, Hillary and I were a little nervous. It was a morning wedding, so we were a little worried about harsh mid-day light. However, mother nature decided to step in and give us the MOST FANTASTIC MORNING. When we arrived for this Mystic Seaport wedding, we were greeted with the most beautiful fog right over the river. Jinny & Ryan were doing a first look as well, so it wasn’t going to be lost either. I know that a foggy wedding morning might not sound great, but trust me.. it is. Fog is one of my favorite things to shoot, so add in a couple AND a beautiful venue and it’s pretty much magic. Just sayin.
The wedding was held at Latitude 41, which is a restaurant and tavern in/next to the Mystic Seaport. Despite living 2 miles from both, I had never been. Zack and I had thought about going to the Seaport when we were in town house hunting, but didn’t really have enough time so decided not to. I will definitely be back, and I hope with a couple to photograph because there are about a zillion awesome places to shoot in there! After the beautiful first look, the wedding and reception were equally beautiful. I loved all the purples that they chose to accent their day.
So the man in this boat let me know right before (apologetically) that he would be photobombing in a minute. I decided to keep him in the frame though and I’m so glad I did!
This building in the seaport had beautiful light and just a really cool look. The purple in the bouquet really popped.
Might be my favorite. I mean, the reflection, the fog, the boat.. come on!
Jinny & Ryan had a beautiful choreographed first dance with all kinds of lifts and dips.
This was such a fun and beautiful wedding, so a big thank you to Hillary Strater Photo for asking me to second shoot.
