This year I had the wonderful opportunity to second shoot a summer Martha’s Vineyard wedding. Not only was it summer, it was 4th of July weekend. Which, being honest is kind of a crazy time to go there. Since moving to New England though I had been dying to visit. This gave me the opportunity to work and play so I was totally on board.
Martha’s Vineyard around July 4th was perfectly patriotic. Flags and streamers in the streets seemed to perfectly match the nautical quaintness of Edgartown. I spent some time talking with the groom’s parents and they told me how they had spent the past 25 years of summers there. We actually were there for their rehearsal dinner as well which was nice to be able to see all of them enjoying themselves before the big day. I loved all the choices they made. Their church ceremony was lovely and followed by some time shooting downtown then over to the Agricultural Hall. It was the perfect mix of elegant and rustic with the guys navy suits and the girls floral gowns. It was pretty much what you might imagine a Martha’s Vineyard wedding to be.
Her rehearsal dress was actually her mother’s dress! How sweet is that?
Those bow ties will get ya. The guys all trying to figure it out 🙂
I definitely thought this would not end well, but it did. And resulted in the most James Bond groom photo ever!
I absolutely love this shot of them.
Such a gorgeous bride!
