Guys, Kyle & Liz’s Collinsville CT engagement session was so perfectly New England and fall. And also lots of old buildings. I mean, there is an old axe factory there! Unfortunately, super off limits. That being said, when Liz told me she wanted a bridge for their engagement session, I thought of Collinsville. I hadn’t shot there yet, but I had been wanting to since I moved here. It’s not exactly close though, so I hadn’t been able to make it up there. These two live in Massachusetts, so it was the perfect spot between us.. WITH a bridge! I wasn’t sure what the leaves would be like when I was driving there. In Mystic, the leaves were pretty much all still green, just a few trees starting to yellow. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. Not peak, but definitely starting to get lots of color.
I actually met Kyle a few weeks ago at Steph & Dylan‘s wedding, where he was one of the groomsmen. I love working with friends of my couples. It’s pretty much a guarantee we will get along because I make it a point to only hire couples I feel like we all click. You spend a lot of time with your wedding photographer on your day, so you should hire someone you enjoy being around. And I was right! We had so much fun walking around, finding little cool spots. These two fully embraced everything I threw at them, including throwing leaves at each other. They are getting married next summer, and I can’t wait to come back up to New England and hang out with them then.
Ahhh! The photo on the right, might be one of my favorites.
