It’s crazy to believe that August is almost here, back to school season and fall are looming around the corner, and 2014 is more than half over (what?!?). In 4 short months we will be arriving in Connecticut for the next part of our journey in this military life. Lately we have been trying to be really positive about the move so I thought I would write a blog post about all the things that I’m looking forward to. Maybe in a few months I’ll write one about what I’m going to miss most.
(A few of) The things I am looking forward to:
- The quaintness of the small coastal towns
- Traveling the short distance to Boston, and New York City to visit
- Sailboats!
- Trying lobster where apparently lobster is king
- Summers where you don’t need air conditioning most of the time
- BEAUTIFUL fall foliage!
- Scouting new locations
- Beautiful old homes
- More time with my husband (hopefully)
- No deployments for 3 years!
- Experiencing a new part of the world
Moving to a new place where you don’t know anyone can be scary. When I was 11 we moved to Arizona from Virginia, and then when I was 25 I moved to Virginia Beach from Arizona. I know I was homesick for a few weeks when I moved here but it was also exciting being in a new place. I love experiencing the world. Life is short, and sometimes it gives us something to challenge us which can turn into an amazing adventure. Connecticut – here’s to our next adventure. Any current Connecticut residents have anything to add to this list for me?
