I love springtime weddings. Zack and I had our wedding in April, and I just love the milder temps compared to summer and everything being in bloom. This particular day kept threatening rain, however mother nature threw us a bone and decided to just hold off until the day was over. She’s got my back. I had never been to the Bee & Thistle Inn but I had heard from several friends that it was awesome. Old Lyme isn’t that far from us, but I haven’t really explored the area. The inn is charming inside and out and surrounded by similarly historic buildings so I definitely recommend coming by for dinner or a little getaway. I can see why any couple wanting an intimate feeling wedding would choose this as their venue. I’m so glad that Julia (the awesome Julia Jane) asked me along to second shoot this wedding with her.
The wedding was small, and intimate and basically just family and close friends. I love weddings like this because they can feel so personal. Also, the groom is British so obviously he had a fantastic accent and I was just happy to hear anything he had to say to me haha. AND THEN, because all of this wasn’t awesome enough, they did a gender reveal of their soon to be baby in the coolest fashion. Confetti! The images really just speak for themselves. Enjoy!
I love when couples have this kind of reaction during a first look!
The dress details, the bouquet, her ring! Everything. On. Point!
The way the ceremony was set up, these two were literally surrounded by family and friends. Best way to get married.
The tables and room where dinner happened looked fantastic!
NO ONE knew the gender so I LOVE the genuine emotion here.
More confetti!
