I met Randi when I was quitting my day job. She is actually my replacement! We only spent a few days together training before I left but I could tell what a sweet, kind gal she was. Plus she’s totally beautiful! These two have a similar story to me and Zack. Their moms were college roommates and best friends. They have pretty much known each other their whole lives, but they reconnected about a year and a half ago.
We planned this session probably about 6 weeks ago as just a couples session. Then, over the 4th of July Nate popped the question! A couples session and engagement session don’t differ too much. Just add a big beautiful ring into the mix for me to take some snaps of. Her ring is so unique! It’s an aquamarine center stone which is her birthstone. I love that!
We went down to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront for their session. It was a particularly warm, muggy and busy summer weeknight. We got pretty lucky in that for the most part, you can’t tell how busy it was. I love the oceanfront area because between the boardwalk, and the beach area, and some of the hotel lawns it can look so different by simply walking a block or even a few steps away. The light was super gorgeous and so were Nate & Randi. It is easy to tell how happy they are together, and I can tell they are a great pair. I couldn’t be happier with these and I hope they feel the same!
I lucked out with the carnival areas I wanted to use basically being deserted!
The sunset was so gorgeous that night, I saw it happening and just snapped this really quick. I hadn’t planned on one like this, but it might be my favorite!
