So, 2015! I probably should have already blogged by now buutttt I haven’t so let’s just all agree that it’s cool. So much has happened over the past two months, so it’s nice to finally sit down and maybe try and write a blog post. Last year I tried to start a series called Sunday #Selfie but I found it hard to always blog on just myself the way I had set it up. So with 2015, I’m closing that chapter and starting Monday Musings. It will have personal topics, or maybe what I’m thinking about in the news, really anything but I’m going to try to have different topics each week. So let’s get started!
IPHONE IMAGE OF THE WEEK
Last week I stopped over at Olde Mistick Village to pick up some lotion and a tea, and the little pond area was mostly frozen but the ducks did not care. It was funny to see some of them sliding around on top of the ice though.
READING
Right now, I’m getting back into reading. Pretty much every year I tell myself I’m going to read 50 books and then kind of give up about halfway through. This year I’m really going to do it! The first book of the year was Looking for Alaska by John Green. I picked it up because I really really loved The Fault in Our Stars. I thought it was beautifully written, and I like sad books. Glutton for punishment? Who knows. Anyways, I finished it in a day. I liked it, but I definitely thought TFIOS was a stronger story. Next up is Lone Survivor by Marcus Luttrell & Patrick Robinson.
COVETING
I really want some new plaid shirts. I’m trying to spend this year buying less though, so when I see shirts in the store I ask myself if I HAVE to have it. If the answer is no, then I don’t buy it. I’m currently on the hunt though, so if you know of somewhere that has a ton right now let me know. Target had one I really liked about a month ago but silly me, didn’t buy it and of course they no longer have it in store or online.
SINGING
Currently I have really been digging M83’s stuff. It isn’t exactly new to me, but it’s just what I’ve been in the mood for. If you like alternative, especially electronica type they are pretty awesome. Their music will give you all the feels.. at least it does to me haha.
FEELING
Cold. Connecticut is much colder than Virginia Beach. I mean, I knew this before we moved but seriously, I’m ready for spring and at least mildly warmer temperatures. I can’t wait for when it’s warm enough for me to go explore new locations and places to photograph. It’s going to take some time to get used to these kinds of winters though. Any tips for a former desert girl?
What are you up to this week? Anything you are reading, coveting, singing or feeling about that I should know about or topics you would like me to include next week? Also, follow me on instagram @beachcameratiff for my #mondaymantra motivational post.
