Well I’ve been back a few days from my trip and I have to say I had a really great time. I’ve felt since I moved to Virginia Beach that I almost had 2 lives. My life in Phoenix, and my life here. Both have their own separate qualities that I love. While I have kept in touch with most of my friends from Phoenix, part of me will always feel like I’m missing out and no longer a part of their lives. Some of them are getting engaged and married and I know if I were there I would be going shopping for dresses and accessories with them, and it makes me sad that I’m not there for that. On the other hand, I love my life and friends here. Whenever I visit Phoenix (especially on trips where Zack can’t come with me) I feel like I just slip back into those shoes and it’s nice, comfortable. I miss those people very much! Would I trade what I have now for that? Nope! I love living at the ocean and the experiences I have had here. I have a strange sense of what homesick means however. Virginia is my home, but sometimes I feel homesick for Phoenix even if isn’t really my home anymore.
While I was in Phoenix, I managed to eat some of my favorite foods, I photographed a DOUBLE maternity session with a friend from college and her sister (up on facebook), and got to attend a wedding of a close friend from high school. My friend’s wedding I had so much fun photographing the ceremony and reception on instagram for her, so anyone who wasn’t able to come could follow along! She looked beautiful and if you want to check it out head over to instagram and you can see the posts @jessntay_tjp. I packed a TON into my 4 day trip. I think I have spent the rest of this week allowing my body to catch up from confusion of traveling and the 3 hour time difference that was made even worse that basically all my departure flights required me up at 3am.
Tonight I am meeting up with Sarah of the lovely Sarah Elle Photography and Erin of Erin Daniel Photography to discuss something we are planning for early November. I can’t wait until it is completed and I can share!! Plus I get to spend some gal time with them and I love both of them 🙂
So I leave you today with some photos of myself at my going away party when I was moving to Phoenix.
