“Cause blue eyes, you are all that I need. Cause blue eyes, you’re the sweet to my mean. ”
– Cary Brothers
When I first met with Jesse & Kylie, one of the first things I found out about them is that Kylie knew one of my aunts. It’s one of those “it’s a small world” moments that can connect people. The more we sat there and chatted I knew I really wanted to be their wedding photographer. So I was excited to hear they felt the same! We immediately got to planning their Lowell MA engagement session.
These two live in a very cool old converted mill building on the river. When I looked up images of where they live, I couldn’t imagine shooting their session anywhere else. I love areas that have a mixture of old and new, urban spaces with trees, water, nature, incorporated. We unfortunately had to reschedule their session because hurricane Matthew showed up to play. However, the day we shot on instead turned out to be pretty perfect. The trees seemed to be on fire, yet it was almost unseasonably warm for fall.
These two have been engaged since last November, however put off wedding planning until Kylie finished getting her masters. Wedding planning is a full time job, so I definitely agree with their decision. I think this probably also gave them a lot of time to really think about what they want from their wedding day. They were so excited and naturally in love in front of the camera. It was easy to just walk around with them and see how big their love is. We spent a little time walking around downtown Lowell, and took a few images in their apartment with their kitty Zuki. Then we went back out among the fall colors and river. It was all so gorgeous. I’m so lucky to have such wonderful couples! I cannot wait until their wedding next year at Aldworth Manor in New Hampshire.
